The star attraction. A climb to the top is an unforgettable experience, offering panoramic views and a tangible sense of the tower's famous tilt. Remember to book a timed slot well in advance and deposit all bags at the cloakroom before your climb.
A masterpiece of Pisan Romanesque architecture, the Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta is a vast and breathtaking cathedral. Admission is free with any other ticket. Don't miss the incredible pulpit by Giovanni Pisano and the Byzantine-style mosaics.
The Baptistery of St. John is the largest in Italy, famous for its remarkable acoustics (a custodian demonstrates them every 30 minutes). The Camposanto is a serene monumental cemetery with Roman sarcophagi and restored medieval frescoes.
The Piazza dei Miracoli is located at Piazza del Duomo, 56126 Pisa PI, Italy. It's a pleasant 20-25 minute walk from Pisa Centrale, the main railway station. Simply follow the main thoroughfare, Corso Italia, across the river and through the historic center.
Alternatively, local buses (LAM Rossa) run frequently from the station to the stop "Torre". If arriving by car, there are paid parking lots on Via Pietrasantina, a short walk from the square. The entire area is a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so driving directly to the Piazza is not possible for non-residents.
